Ouchie cactus
Ouchie cactus

I love the way Breanna’s vocabulary is growing so quickly!
One of my favorite things is the way she uses adjectives as soon as she learns them. For example, one section of her current flavor-of-the-month bedtime story (Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss) has a character named Pat who keeps sitting on things (a hat, a cat, a bat — and I’m still not sure that page’s picture is appropriate for a kid’s book, but I digress — and finally, a cactus).
Each time I get to the page showing Pat about to sit on a cactus (with the caption, “no Pat, no, don’t sit on that!”), she interrupts me and says “it’s a cactus, Daddy.” I respond, “that’s right, Bre.” And she adds, “it’s a ouchie cactus.”
