Stuffed Animals: Introducing Bre-Bear and Lamby
Stuffed animals are such a HUGE part of a little girl’s life, so I can’t believe it has taken me 11 months of blogging to realize I’ve never introduced Breanna’s favorite stuffed animals to you!
So here they are. Introducing the most important stuffed animals in my daughter’s life,
Bre-Bear and Lamby…
Bre-Bear is a little teddy bear who wears a bunny-rabbit costume, complete with a hoodie that has bunny ears. “Breanna” is stitched into the costume. Bre-Bear has been Breanna’s bedtime companion for all 3 years of her life and was a thoughtful gift from Grams. Of course, Bre-Bear lives on the pillow in Breanna’s Big Girl Bed. She actually rests her head on Bre-Bear rather than directly on her pillow when she sleeps at night.
Lamby came onto the scene a little later in Bre’s life, but still plays an important role. Lamby lives in Breezy’s daycare cubbie and comes out only to accompany her during nap time at school.
I gave Lamby the sniff test when I picked up Breanna from daycare on Friday and realized it was time for little Lamby to get “a bath.” A similar nose-check revealed that Bre-Bear was also due for a wash. So Lamby made a rare trip home this weekend to take a spin-cycle tour with Bre-Bear while Breanna was occupied with an extended finger-painting session.
The funny thing is that after 3 years of Breanna sleeping on Bre-Bear, that little teddy bear still smells like my daughter even after being submerged in soap sudsy water for a 15-minute delicate cycle and a dizzying dryer session with 2 fabric softener sheets! It’s a wonderful scent that I hope never fades.
Lamby, on the other hand, smells as new as the day Breanna created her at Build-a-Bear.
What were your favorite stuffed animals when you were little? And did your children have favorite stuffed animals, too?
