My Dad Blog
Welcome to Raleigh Daddy 4.0
Thanks for visiting my daddy blog.
A Little History:
I originally named my blog Raleigh Daddy 2.0 as a play on the term Web2.0 and the fact that my daughter was 2-years-old when I created this website.
Over the years, I’ve “upgraded” to versions 3.0 and 4.0 as my little girl turned ages three and four. Unlike the creator of my iPhone, I didn’t really upgrade any software. However, my daddy skills — and hopefully my ability to express my fatherhood reflections through this site — have definitely sharpened each year and with each new parenting experience.
In Fatherhood University, I’m now in my senior year.
This site has a dual purpose:
1) To serve as an electronic journal documenting the life of a young girl through the eyes of her loving father.
2) To serve as a helpful resource (and a source of humor) for other fathers.
It is also a great way to update my friends and family about my various fatherhood adventures.
If we do not plant knowledge when young, it will give us no shade when we are old.
My Vision for this Blog:
I hope my reflections on being a dad inspire and entertain you. However, I have a confession to make: As much as I hope you become a fan and regular reader of my blog, you are not really the intended audience for my writings. So … who is?
The answer: MY OWN DAUGHTER. Right now, she is still learning how to read. My dream is that one day … when she grows up … she will read through these stories about her childhood and SMILE. (My wife and I also use these short stories as memory-joggers about some of the best moments in our journey as parents.)
How to Navigate This Site:
On the sidebar to the right, you can find links to my latest blog posts. I’ve also included links to some online content that current fathers and soon-to-be-dads will find interesting. I’ve also linked to some mommy blogs, funny videos and other good stuff.
Info for Fellow Bloggers:
Do you have a mommy blog or daddy blog of your own? Click on SEND ME AN EMAIL and tell me about it, and I might link to it on my sidebar, so that my readers can enjoy your blog, too. And if you enjoy my parenting blog, please feel free to add it to your blogroll or link to it elsewhere on your site.
For the Social Networkers:
If you are on Facebook or Twitter, there are sections in the sidebar where you can follow this blog on Facebook and connect with me via my @iFatherhood Twitter profile.
You can also subscribe to get new posts sent directly to your email address, and you can access this blog by bookmarking iFatherhood.net (which will send you here).
Well, I think that’s all the housekeeping stuff. Enjoy your stay at Raleigh Daddy 4.0 and visit again soon. Bring along some friends next time!
